blueThree police officers were killed and seven others were wounded during a counter-terrorism operation targeting a suspected Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) hideout in the al-Hudayyeb area of Diyala province on 12 September. Three suspected AQI militants were also killed during the fighting.
